This November is an exciting month in gaming history as the next-gen consoles ready themselves to be out on shelves before the XMAS holidays. Hitting Australia waters first, the Xbox One arrives to retailers on the 22nd November but will be holding midnight launches in participating stores around the country. So make sure to check with your local retailer if they are holding any midnight launches for the XBOX ONE release.
Many wonder what to get with the XBOX ONE upon its release and nothing is worse than having a console with no games to play on it! Fear not, we have compiled a list of essentials to make your one stop shopping all the easier. Also to point out, the XBOX ONE is capable of both online and offline play but is essential to have it connected to the internet to maximise all the features available on the console.
Assuming that you are already picking up the XBOX ONE console and are wondering what else to pick up with your brand new console here’s a list of what to pick out:
Ryse: Son of Rome - Ryse: Son of Rome is turning out to be more than just a QTE button mashing hack ‘n’ slash as it proves itself over the past weeks with more videos shedding light on the brutal slasher. With a compelling single player campaign, it also comes with a co-op multiplayer that you can tackle alongside with another friend in an ever changing coliseum with challenges around every corner. This is a must get!
Forza Motorsport 5 - Forza is a game that many fans and car enthusiast have to pick up. Fast cars from the McLaren to the Lamborghini. They’ve even put in our Australian own Bathurst track with the inclusion of the Ford and Holden V8 Supercars.
Dead Rising 3 – Who doesn’t love a bit of post-apocalyptic zombie carnage with a large arsenal of weapons at your disposal to mix and match to create your ultimate zombie killing weapon. Open world with no loading screens, an engine enabling hundreds and thousands of zombies to seamlessly wonder about without any breakage in frame rates.
Any games on the XBOX 360 to transition over onto the XBOX ONE
These games include Battlefield 4, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, Skylanders: Swapforce, Lego Marvel and any other titles I may have missed. There is a current offer at retailers that allows you to upgrade your games to the next gen title. Check with your local retailer to confirm this as that you wouldn’t want to miss out on the epic 64 player multi-player in Battlefield 4!
Xbox One Controller plus Play and Charge Kit
It’s a must. There’s nothing worse than having no batteries for your controller when you have to step out into the blistering boiling heatwave in Australia this summer when it hits 40 degrees and you instantly burn to a crisp and dry up into a mummy! Invest into a Controller + Play and Charge Bundle along with an extra Battery Charge kit. There may be only single player games at the moment, but once XBOX Live goes online on launch. There may….MAY be arcade games that has 2 player potential such as Killer Instinct which I heard was quite a killer game!
Hopefully this clears up your decision into picking up a few goodies alongside your spanking new XBOX ONE! Enjoy the coming weeks leading up to XMAS and keep an eye out on tips to make your XMAS shopping all that easier when purchasing all your gaming essentials.
